Decreased methylmalonic acid in blood

Question by Sabine: What to do when methylmalonic acid in blood is lowered?

Answer: A lowered value of this has no medical consequences.
Methylmalonic acid goes up when there is a vitamin b12 deficiency.
Furthermore if active vitamin B12 is normal then methylmalonic acid cannot be elevated either.
