What are the differences between IgG and IgE food allergies?

Question from Linda: What are the differences between IgG and IgE food allergies?

Answer: An IgG is a food intolerance that occurs later, also called delayed food allergy. This type of allergy can be temporary, by leaving out the trigger foods for a while the gut flora can recover and you can slowly add the product back into your diet. IgE food allergies are much more severe, often occur immediately after ingestion and can even be dangerous. The IgE food intolerances can often also be measured by the family doctor, the IgG and IgG4 intolerances cannot.
